GIZ - Junior Administrative and Content Specialist

GIZ is looking for a Junior Administrative and Content Specialist for its upcoming multi-donor action “EU4ClimateResilience”, jointly co-financed by the European Union and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV), and implemented by GIZ and OECD.

EU4ClimateResilience is implemented as part of the BMUV-funded project ‘Promoting Green Deal Readiness in the Eastern Partnership Countries’ (PROGRESS). This complementarity and implementation of both the Action and PROGRESS by GIZ and OECD therefore reflects the Team Europe approach. EU4ClimateResilience supports the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine in improving climate change and adaptation policies to achieve the mitigation and adaptation goals and targets under the Paris Agreement (PA) and related to bilateral agreements with the EU.

This position is expected to start in July 2024 (or earlier), for a 12-month period, with the possibility of extension based on performance.

The primary role of the Junior Administrative and Content Specialist is to perform commercial, organizational, and administrative tasks, and to provide overall content and communication support.

The overall responsibilities covered by this position are as follows:

  • Organization, planning and administrative documentation of events that are planned within EU4ClimateResilience
  • Management of the tendering processes
  • Developing and maintaining a list of contacts for procurement of goods and services, drafting contracts below 2500 EUR
  • Management of data with regards to evaluations, files, and statistics
  • Overall content, media, PR and communication support for the PROGRESS/EU4ClimateResilience project

 Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (e.g. Business Administration, Political Science, Environmental Science, Communication, Public relations, etc.)
  • Additional training or knowledge in a relevant subject (e.g. climate policy, natural resource management, urban planning, Public Relations and communication) is of advantage
  • Basic knowledge and/or practices of any of the following topics: ecosystem services, climate adaptation/mitigation, Covenant of Mayors, Nature based solutions
  • Certificate/ diploma or comparable qualification from a commercial academy (accounting)
  • At least 3 years professional experience in a comparable position
  • Working experience with international development cooperation
  • Very good working knowledge of ITC technologies (e-mail, MS teams, Outlook calendar, etc.)
  • Sound knowledge of computer applications (MS Office) and knowledge of accounting software
  • Basic knowledge on climate change issues
  • Excellent verbal and writing communication skills in Romanian and English, knowledge of German is an advantage
  • Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
  • Willingness to travel within the country
  • Moldovan citizenship or holding permanent resident status in Moldova
