Domestic Caretaker Netherlands Residency in Chisinau

Working environment

On 19 April 2022, the Kingdom of the Netherlands officially opened an embassy in the Republic of Moldova. The team is close-knit and dedicated. The embassy is seeking an experienced domestic caretaker for the new official residence of the ambassador in Telecentru, Chisinau.

Description of duties:

• Supervises daily operations: managing entry or access, performing inspections and repairs and ensuring the functioning of heating, cooling, lighting and alarm systems;
• Overseeing security: prevent unauthorized access and ensure that the security devices are functioning properly;
• Keeping the residence clean and hygienic: sweep, vacuum, dust, mop, empty the trash cans, wash dishes, do the laundry and iron clothes, clean kitchen and kitchen equipment, bathrooms, windows, doors and other structures in the house;
• Housekeeping: mowing the small lawn, watering in- and outdoor plants, collecting mail and when applicable supervise other staff;
• Responding to requests from the residents and assisting in daily activities, such as cooking and grocery shopping.

Job requirements:

• Communication skills. Create a positive and comfortable experience for the residents and develop friendly relationships. Interact with vendors to ensure quality services at a cost-effective price. Courtesy towards guests.
• Attention to detail. Performing several duties simultaneously and coordinating with different individuals. Being attentive and having multi-tasking skills to fulfill duties effectively.
• Problem solving to handle unanticipated challenges.
• Practical knowledge of residential equipment and heating.

Training and knowledge:

• Secondary vocational level;
• Previous experience working in a domestic environment with good references;
• Good knowledge of English, Romanian and Russian language;

Type of Position

This is a part-time position (20 hours per week, could be extended in case if it is needed);
Holiday leave according to the Republic of Moldova labor law;
The position is also open for a flexible couple who want to share the job.
