About Caritas Moldova

Founded in 1995, Caritas Moldova is part of the Caritas Internationalis network. It aims to carry out the charitable and social action of the Church - reaching out to the poor, vulnerable, and excluded, regardless of race or religion, to build a world based on justice and fraternal love.

Caritas Moldova's impactful humanitarian efforts are driven by its dedicated cadre of five outreach mobile teams, which serve as the cornerstone of the organization's extensive outreach initiatives across the entire country. These mobile teams play a pivotal role in the execution of a multitude of Caritas Moldova projects, employing a strategic approach that commences with the assessment of beneficiaries' vulnerability levels. Utilizing predetermined criteria and a meticulous scoring system, these teams identify the most urgent cases in dire need of fundamental support, such as vouchers for essential supplies like food, medicine, hygiene items, and medical consultations. Beyond assessment and referral, the mobile teams exhibit a commitment to holistic care by extending their support to include arranging transportation for individuals who lack independent mobility.
