Annual Stakeholders Conference: Towards projects for a resilient and sustainable blue economy in the Black Sea

The 2021 Turkish coordination is pleased to welcome you to the stakeholders’ Conference of the Common Maritime Agenda for the Black Sea (CMA).

The CMA Stakeholder Conference is the regional event that takes stocks of advancements in the implementation of the CMA across the Black Sea. It fosters discussions with regional stakeholders in areas for further actions and concrete ways forward to ensure synergies across the various initiatives ongoing across the region.

This year the CMA Stakeholders Conference builds upon the results of the annual stakeholders event organised in 2020 and regional events held throughout 2021. It also capitalises on the many actions promoted by the CMA and other partner initiatives in the Black Sea region.

The conference will make a state of play on the progress in the implementation of the CMA, also by assessing the contribution of relevant regional initiatives (e.g. SRIA and Black Sea CONNECT, Blueing the Black Sea Programme, etc.) and by promoting exchange of experiences with the other sea basin strategies.

The hackathons for ‘project ideas’ will represent another important moment of the event: Black Sea stakeholders will be invited to discuss already emerged project concepts to be further developed across the CMA Goals and priorities.

The conference will therefore be instrumental to the identification of concrete actions that support a resilient and sustainable blue economy in the region.

The results of the projects discussion will also be commented by relevant financing actors, so to identify the implementation options and opportunities.

The outcomes of the conference will provide valuable bottom-up inputs to the CMA implementation for the year 2022 and beyond.
