People in Need (PIN) is a Czech non-governmental organization that provides relief aid and development assistance while working to defend human rights and democratic freedom. It is one of the largest relief and development organizations in post-communist Europe and has administered projects in 37 countries over the past 30 years. From 2009 onwards, PIN has added development programs to its work in Moldova, building a vision and practices that keep people and communities at the canter of our work. Throughout its presence in the country, PIN has been contributing to the development of the following sectors: Sustainable Livelihood and Environment, Social Inclusion and Protection, and Good Governance.

 Position overview Summary of duties

Under overall supervision of the Finance Manager (FM), the Finance/Accounting Assistant (FA/A) ensures timely and effective operation of general financial processes of cash register and invoice accounting tasks related to PIN MDA.

Main responsibilities:

  • Overall coordination of cash payments and their proper approval and archiving (ELO) in line with PIN procedures and policies,
  • Processing of the advances (operational and employee´s) and their clearances,
  • Implementing elementary finance security principles during each cash operation,
  • Weekly and monthly cash reconciliations (EUR, MDL cashbox).
  • Uploading invoices (suppliers, internal) to ELO and starting their WF according to the PIN procedures and principles,
  • Archiving support documents for all payments and proofs of payments in ELO,
  • General oversight of financial processes and coordination of these payments with members of the IRQ CP.
  • Checking of open advance invoices on monthly basis,
  • Verification of grantees’ financial report.

What we are looking for:

  • University degree, additional qualification would be an advantage
  • Experience for at least 1 years
  • Good working knowledge of MS office/excel and high computer literacy is required
  • Highly organized & attentive to small details
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, organize and plan effectively

Other:

  • Languages – Romanian or Russian advanced level, English medium level (speaking & writing)
  • Questioning mind and keen to learn
