Background

TEKEDU is implementing GirlsGoIT project with the aim to empower girls and young women and provide them with better education and career opportunities in technologies. GirlsGoIT is providing education opportunities for girls between 14 and 20 from Moldova and organizes awareness raising campaigns to inspire more girls to pursue a studies and employment in technologies. The program is already present in 17 regions of Moldova and will continue to expand the network by engaging girls in leading activities at the local level, within local clubs of GirlsGoIT. By 2023, GirlsGoIT aims at engaging more than 600 girls in ICT education programmes at the local and national level.

The programme is funded by UNICEF Moldova for the period Jun 2022-November 2022.

Candidate profile:

We are looking for a proactive person to join our team and support the achievement of project goals. The position is suitable for someone passionate of ICT and education, willing to contribute to the development of young people (specifically girls) from Moldova. The Project Assistant/Communication Manager is expected to prove excellent communication skills and adaptability to a dynamic working environment, knowledge of Romanian, English and Russian is mandatory.
We will provide induction, training and support to the selected candidate.

Description of the role:

The Project Assistant/Communication Manager will be working with the Project Manager to ensure the successful implementation of the project objectives. The selected candidate will work closely with private ICT companies (project partners) and represent the project to stakeholders when assigned.

Employment is provided for five months with the possibility of extension.  Salary will be discussed during the interview with selected applicants.

Main duties:

Management and implementation of non-formal education activities:

  • Implementation of Autumn Bootcamp and Summer Camp (in collaboration with Education manager and Project manager)
  • Monitoring and evaluation of education activities (according to the project Monitoring and Evaluation plan)

Management of communication activities (according to the yearly Communication Strategy):

  • Working with private ICT companies in organizing planned events
  • Support in implementation of communication and awareness-raising campaign (according to the Annual Communication plan)
  • Support in creating GirlsGoIT product for promoting the program (for companies, schools and participants)
