Moldova Competitiveness Project seeks a native English speaker to serve as editor

Moldova Competitiveness Project financed by USAID and Sweden and implemented by Chemonics International Inc. is a 5-year $21.8 million dynamic project assisting Moldovan industries with key economic and social significance, namely:

  • wine production clustered with tourism,
  • light industry (apparel, footwear, and accessories manufacturing),
  • information and communications technology (ICT) clustered with creative services sector and precision engineering (PE) industry.

The Project’s wide range of visible activities covering all referenced industries requires it to effectively and meaningfully communicate its impact and successes with the donors as well as the greater development community and the public. MCP seeks the services of a native American English editor with proven experience in communications, interested to support MCP’s work by conducting the following illustrative activities:

  • review and edit documents such as bi-weekly reports, briefs, success stories, talking points, speeches, scene setters, and other ad-hoc communication pieces;
  • develop new communication materials such as success stories, briefs, and other ad-hoc communication pieces;
  • review and develop communication materials for all the MCP-supported industries as well as other assignments as requested by MCP Communications Specialist, COP, and/or their designees.


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in English Literature, Communications, International relations/trade and other related fields;
  • Excellent English language written and oral skills;
  • Proven experience editing, developing communication materials for a wide range of audiences; U.S. Government or USAID-related communication experience a plus; 
  • At least two years of experience in communications, teaching, international development, and other related fields.
