Theme: Eastern Partnership and Good Governance

From 28 June to 18 July, 2010, the Carl Friedrich Goerdeler-Kolleg will host the first Summer Academy for participants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

The Summer Academy has set itself the goal to support young executives from administrations for the Eastern Partnership (EaP) of the EU, to develop networks between the countries of Eastern and Central Europe and to make a contribution to the development of Good Governance and administrative reforms. The Summer Academy is designed to provide in-depth knowledge about the political issues in the EU and to make its participants aware of the various points of view and opinions.

The Summer Academy is conducted as a joint project with the Representation of the European Commission in Berlin and the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP).

You can apply if you meet the following criteria:

  • Armenian, Azerbaijani, Belarusian, Georgian, Moldovan or Ukrainian citizenship,
  • university degree with outstanding grades,
  • first professional experience in the public sector (where applicable related to the EU),
  • awareness of social responsibility and commitment,
  • motivation and ambition to spend time in Germany and Central Europe, leadership qualities
  • very good knowledge of German and good knowledge of English.

Application documents
Please e-mail the following documents no later than February 28, 2010 to Marie-Lena May:

  • Curriculum Vitae in table form (in German) with photo
  • Letter of motivation (4,000-5,000 characters, in German)
  • University degree certificate (in the original, if applicable translated into English)
  • 1 letter of recommendation from your employer that confirms employer’s support (in German or English, on official paper including signature and contact details)
  • Proof of German and English language skills (only the most recent certificate)
