Millennium DPI Partners, LLC is an international development firm based in the United States of America, which is implementing the USAID-funded Open Justice Project in Moldova. Open Justice will assist the Government of Moldova to improve the efficiency and transparency of the Moldovan judicial system and improve access to justice for citizens of Moldova.

Millennium DPI Partners, LLC, through the Open Justice Project, will develop a new Integrated Case Management System (ICMS). The ICMS is an electronic tool for the Moldovan courts to reduce corruption and promote transparency in the justice system. The proper use of the ICMS will strengthen court administration processes in areas such as case flow management, court performance data, budget planning and human resources. ICMS will also offer citizens easy access to various court e-services and information about court and judicial performance. ICMS will be capable to inter-connect with all relevant governmental data software and will facilitate data exchange between such software’s.

Millennium DPI Partners, LLC is seeking qualified Moldovan citizens for the position of paid local intern to serve on the Open Justice Project between July 1, 2018 -  December 31, 2018.

The tasks, responsibilities and qualifications of the local intern are listed below:

Tasks and responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to daily project activities related to the development, testing and implementation of IT solutions in the justice system (the new ICMS, CEPEJ Fiche, Electronic Judicial Statistics Module);
  2. Train court staff in using the newly developed CMS functionalities and the ICMS;
  3. Keep record of project materials and official documents pertaining to IT solutions in the justice system and the ICMS in particular;
  4. Partner with the project team to arrange logistics for events, trainings and visits, including folder staffing, mailings, attendee sign-in list, and on-site assistance;
  5. Conduct research on subjects related to the Open Justice Project, upon request;
  6. Provide assistance in drafting activity reports and support in day by day activities;
  7. Provide support in attending meetings and drafting letters, messages, minutes, etc.

Minimum required qualifications and skills:

  • Master’s student or graduate in the field of law; undergraduate students may be considered;
  • Good knowledge in the area of Civil and Criminal Procedure;
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Familiarity with the activity of Moldovan courts, automated case management system used by Moldovan courts and the audio recording system “Femida” would be an asset;
  • Strong analytical and writing skills;
  • Ability to clearly speak and write in English and Romanian;
  • Ability to work under pressure with a positive attitude, as a part of the project team;
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills;
  • Willingness to take on ad-hoc tasks.
