The German Development Cooperation through GIZ is looking for a Procurement Assistant to complement the daily activities of the GIZ Country Office team.

The Procurement Assistant shall assist the Country Office team with the organization and processing of tenders for the procurement of services, goods and materials, as well as support with any related procedure required for the successful implementation of tender competitions.

The following responsibilities are included in the assignment:

  • Assisting with the organisation of tenders for the procurement of services, goods and materials as per GIZ rules;
  • Assisting with the follow-on contracting of local service providers and suppliers by using SAP software applications;
  • Assisting with tender and contract documentation electronic and paper filing, as provided by GIZ rules;
  • Assisting with the organization of customs clearance procedures for the imported goods and materials;
  • Establishing good working relations with relevant institutions and project partners in Moldova;
  • Providing customer-oriented administrative services to projects/programmes, experts, in the fields of service contracting and procurement of goods;
  • Performs other job related duties and tasks, as it might be assigned by the management.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Law or similar area;
  • At least 2-3 years of professional experience in a comparable position;
  • Very good working knowledge of IT technologies and computer applications (MS Office); previous experience in using SAP system would be an asset;
  • Fluent written and oral knowledge of Romanian and English languages is a must; knowledge of German and Russian would be an asset;
  • Experience in working for or with international development organizations and/or projects; ability to work in an intercultural environment;
  • Outstanding organisational skills, ability to multitask and reply to inquires upon short notice; Very trustworthy and loyal.

Applicants have to be citizens of the Republic of Moldova, residing inside the country for a period of over 6 months before the date of application.
